Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need a financial advisor?
It depends. Some people are comfortable as do-it-your selfers whereas, others may want guidance. Retirement planning isn’t one-size-fits-all—everyone’s financial needs are different. Several factors come into play, such as your spending habits now and in the future, lifestyle goals, healthcare and long-term care expenses, cost of living, taxes, housing, and any financial support you provide for family members. On top of that, inflation gradually reduces your purchasing power as the cost of goods and services continues to rise. As your financial advisor we're here to help you evaluate your unique situation, build a tailored plan, and confidently navigate the path through the future.
Q: Why should I hire a financial professional instead of doing it myself?
Managing your finances on your own can be overwhelming, especially with the ever-changing market, tax laws, investment options, and life circumstances. In addition, doing it yourself would require some level of time commitment which you may or may not want to make. A financial professional brings expertise, strategy, and a personalized approach to help you make informed decisions, avoid costly mistakes, and stay on track toward your goals. Having a trusted advisor means you don’t have to navigate complex financial matters alone—we’re here to provide guidance, answer your questions, and give you confidence in your financial future.

Q: What are your fees?

We will create a financial plan that addresses all the moving financial aspects of your life so that they are working together to give you the highest probability of success. Over the years we’ve helped clients with home buying strategies, career changes, death and divorce, college savings, major purchases, and even small business development! Your plan will include investments, taxes, insurance, legal, cashflow, debt. We will collaborate with other professionals (Attorneys, CPA’s, etc.) for the areas that we don't personally implement.
Q: How much do I need to retire?
This question is often asked the most. The amount needed for retirement varies for everyone and depends on factors like your lifestyle, spending habits, healthcare expenses, taxes, and the cost of living in your chosen location. There’s no universal number, but we can help you determine what’s right for you. By creating a personalized retirement plan, we’ll ensure you have the financial security to enjoy your retirement with confidence. Let’s work together to map out a strategy that fits your goals!
Q: What will meetings look like? How many will there be?
Meetings will be conducted with you and/or your partner. On an ongoing basis we will meet at least twice a year to update your overall plan to ensure that you are tracking toward your goals for the reasons that are important to you. Your Annual Review will contain two parts, an initial check-in time to discuss what is new or changed in your life since our previous meeting. The second part will be reviewing the progress of your financial plan and addressing any to-do items. Although we typically only meet twice a year with clients, we’re always available throughout the year if you wish to address questions or concerns that arise between meetings.
Q: Will you be able to answer my financial questions without separate/hidden fees?
We're here to answer your questions—no surprise invoices, ever! When you work with us for financial planning, you gain full access to our resources year-round. Whether you prefer to connect by phone, email, in-person or Zoom, we're always available and committed to providing clear, accurate, and timely responses to your financial questions.
Q: Do you do virtual appointments?
Yes! We serve clients all the country, ranging from coast to coast. Our firm provides the convenience of meeting virtually over Zoom. All you need is a Wi-Fi signal! We ensure these meetings will provide the same detailed and organized experience whether it’s in-person or virtual.
